wedding at sandy bay paradise hotel

February 12th, 2007 by onakapeko2

This entree is a a copy and paste from jian ming’s other blog.Since this is all about food right, my blog is about people(so it’s tak berkaitan),so i decided to take this…this is a blog about food and i want a food review..and if you guys havent notice, it’s er the first time in a month since we were "together" well, technically la, sitting in the same hall, eating the same food.so i guess this deserves an entree here =) Permisson to post was obtained, so we wont get sued for copyright infringement =p

"Apparently (no offense) its my 1st time visiting a hotel that small : P But one thing I realise is there is a warm feeling. Customers and hotel ppl are pretty close. And the environment is pretty lau juak. Enuf of ppl thingy….Nice deco and ambience but let’s move on to food ;) Anyway, 1st stop, Four Seasons…Pretty good actually. There’s mango salad, pandan chicken roll, baby japanese octopus and fried lemon fish pieces. Kudos for octopus, mango salad and pandan chicken…Next, shark’s fin soup. I guess, its a must in every chinese wedding dinner. As you can see, the shark fin was more than crabmeat….eh was I dreaming? In the end I swallowed 2 bowls. Hehehe…Then came the roasted chicken. I remember I had it somewhere b4. It doesn’t matter as long as it taste good. Haha really interesting cuz they replaced prawn crackers with papadam. Like the sauce (eat together with the chicken), wasn’t too sweet.Ok. Now’s the dish which Serene kept bragging on for weeks…the prawns….well I think the portion didn’t live up to wat your dad expected, pal. But i had 6. the uncle sitting at my table kept shoving the prawns to me and some other ppl at the table. Luv the curry leaves smell and taste : )Hmmmm after the prawn dish, I didn’t take anymore pics…lazy and wanted to just sit back and enjoy my wine *hicks*….Oh yeah, didn’t take pics from the main huge plate. Paiseh lar, later ppl think I siao! After the prawns, they served braised mushroom with ginko nuts and brocoli. hm….nth much to comment on the dish tho. But at least the ginko wasn’t bitter and they’re soft.Later, teo chew style steam fish was served. I actually prefer this style tho. Mom would never order this. Whatever. May be salty for some ppl. Ain’t it suppose to be sour?2nd last dish, lotus leaf fried rice.  Taste ok but would be better if its fried with char siew lolz….Had 3 bowls anyway…no one touched it. I scooped only the top area where they are filled with spring onions. hehe. Its getting late and the waiters are so slow….gosh.  I wanted to leave cuz it already 10.30pm! But stayed until to the last for the sake of dessert. I quickly gobbled 3 bowls, take pics wit Serene and chaoz…Overall, this is the best hotel wedding dinner I’ve ever eaten in Penang (in terms of taste) so far compare to the ones I’d been to previously. "

Taken from JM’s blog.will post mine if you guys want ;)
